Jenesse Center is a Domestic Violence Intervention and Prevention Program based in South Los Angeles.
Established in 1980, Jenesse Center’s mission is to restore and provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive, holistic services to individuals and families impacted by domestic abuse; and to advance prevention modalities to sustain healthy and safe communities free of violence. Since inception, Jenesse Center has served he most vulnerable populations in South Los Angeles and beyond. Services provided include emergency shelter, transitional living programs, mental health counseling, workforce development programs, direct legal services, case management advocacy, public benefits assistance, permanent housing program, health care education, and more. Jenesse also implements several culturally sensitive, relevant programs and services each year and uses community outreach and education strategies to prevent violence by transforming public perception as it relates to abuse in the home.
